Support and Incentives

Builders of New York ENERGY STAR Homes receive access to a variety of program support and incentives.

Financial Incentives:

• Per home incentives are $1,250 for Upstate and $1,500 for Downstate, for homes that meet the current New York ENERGY STAR standards.
• $2,500 Display home incentive and a $3,000 Model home incentive.
• Additional incentives for builders that use BPI Accredited Companies to install Envelope, Heating and Air Conditioning Heat Pump Systems.
• Federal tax incentives are also available.
• Builders receive added incentives for their first plan review and first rating of a New York ENERGY STAR Home

Technical Assistance:

• Individualized plan reviews and technical advice
• Customized energy rating certificates, including an estimate of each homes’ annual utility bills
• On-site building performance testing to evaluate home energy performance, air leakage, and health and safety issues

Marketing and Sales Support:

• Create consumer demand and drive traffic to your business with program advertising, including television, radio, and newspapers.
• Increase awareness and sales of your homes with special events, public relations support, and media outreach.
• Stretch your marketing dollars with co-operative advertising funds of up to $50,000.
• Attractive and attention-grabbing Model Home Branding Kits including plaques, real estate signs, welcome mats, and educational displays
• Customer education and sales tools, and Marketing training
