Open House For Schenectady’s New Combined Heat And Power Project

You are invited to an Open House and Demonstration Showcase for a Combined Heat and Power technologies project which received funding from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

This $7 million project includes plant upgrades to increase digester gas production, generation of electricity and utilization of waste heat. NYSERDA staff and engineers from CDM Smith will be on hand to answer questions about this state of the art technology, how the city is reducing its operation costs. Central New York (CNY) Energy Challenge Team Facilitator Training - Morrisville

Madison County has become a participating community in the Central New York Energy Challenge. The County is currently seeking motivated individuals to serve as Energy Challenge Team Facilitators.

Energy Challenge Teams are made up of 5‐8 households who meet over the course of 12 weeks following a guidebook. The Energy Challenge Team guidebook covers five different categories of actions for your home – from learning to calculate how much energy you use to improving insulation in your home. The team‐based approach allows for peer‐to‐peer support, sharing, and learning.

The Energy Challenge Team Facilitator’s role is to recruit team members, organize and conduct meetings following a facilitator guidebook, and to schedule a comprehensive home energy assessment. Facilitators must also participate in a preliminary training session where they will be introduced to the Facilitator Guidebook, Participant Workbook, and receive other materials and information to support their role.

A facilitator training session will be held Saturday May 5th at the Morrisville Public Library 83 East Main Street Morrisville, NY 13408 from 10:30am to noon. Jennifer Tabanico, President of Action Research, consultant for the project, will be on‐hand to conduct the training session. Facilitators may either live or work within the Madison County and MUST own their own home. Times Square Community Residence Green and Healthy Living Exposition
